PROJECT SCOPE:
The project involves the design, fabrication, and installation of a custom stainless steel water tank.
This tank is intended for industrial or commercial use, requiring high durability, corrosion resistance,
and adherence to sanitary standards. The goal is to deliver a high-quality, leak-proof tank that meets
the client’s capacity and functional requirements.
DESIGN AND
Planning:
- Customer Consultation: MTS Ltd will collaborate closely with the customer to determine the specific requirements for the water tank, including volume capacity, dimensions, inlet/outlet specifications, and any additional features (e.g., insulation, access hatches, or manways).
- Engineering Design: Detailed engineering designs and 3D CAD models will be developed, ensuring the tank meets all regulatory and customer specifications.
- Stress Analysis: Structural analysis will be conducted to ensure the tank can withstand internal pressure, environmental factors, and potential external impacts.
Fabrication
Cutting and Shaping: The stainless steel will be precisely cut and formed into the required shapes using CNC machines and laser cutting technology.
Welding: Skilled welders will use TIG welding to assemble the tank. TIG welding is preferred for stainless steel as it produces clean, strong, and corrosion-resistant welds.
Assembly: The tank will be assembled in sections, including the base, walls, and top ensuring that all seems are fully welded and leak-proof.
Surface Finishing: The tanks surface will be polished to remove any weld marks and to enhance its corrosion resistance. Depending on the customers needs, the interior may also be passivated to further improve its resistance to corrosion and contamination.
Quality Control
Inspection: Comprehensive inspections will be conducted at every stage of fabrication to ensure dimensional accuracy, weld integrity, and surface finish.
Hydrostatic Testing: The tank will undergo hydrostatic testing to verify its strength and leak-proof properties under pressure.
Compliance Checks: The tank will be checked against all relevant industry standards and regulations, ensuring it is suitable for storing potable water or other specified liquids.
